The new Projects view is all about better organization and faster access.
See all your jobs at a glance—filter by Draft, Bidding, In Progress, Completed, and Archived.
Quick actions from the dashboard—update statuses, assign clients, or add addresses without clicking into each project.
Project insights made easy—view estimates, invoices, and change order totals in one spot.
Reorganize on the fly—move estimates between projects with just a few clicks.

🔁 Smart Change Orders (Powered by AI)
Handoff is the only tool that lets you create change orders with AI.
Create change orders from accepted estimates using either typing or voice-to-text.
Add or remove costs just like you do when making a new estimate.
Send and track change orders in the same simple way as proposals.
Automatic syncing: Change orders update your original estimate totals in real time.
Multiple change orders per project are supported, with a clear summary of all changes.

Introducing the New Projects Tab: Your Central Hub for Job Management
The new Projects tab delivers a faster, clearer way to manage your jobs in Handoff. Whether you’re at the office or out in the field, this will now be the default view when you log into Handoff on desktop or mobile.
Navigating the Projects Tab
Desktop: Click the “Projects” tab on the left-hand sidebar.
Mobile: Tap “Projects” from the bottom navigation menu.
This layout gives you immediate access to every job in your pipeline—no digging required.
Smart Filtering by Status
Stay organized and in control with quick filters that let you sort projects by their current phase:
All – Every job, regardless of status.
Draft – Projects not yet sent to a client.
Bidding – Projects with proposals already sent.
In Progress – Active jobs currently underway.
Completed – Projects marked as finished.
Archived – Closed or paused jobs.
You can also manually adjust a project’s filter status as needed.
Editing Projects From the Dashboard
Right from the project list, you can update key details without opening the full project:
Change the project’s status.
Assign or reassign a client.
Add or update the project’s address.
All updates are made directly within the line item of the project—quick and simple.
Creating a New Project
Click the green New Project (+) button in the top right to start something new. You’ll land in a clean, simplified workspace:
At the top left, you’ll see a system-generated project number and the default title “Untitled Project.”
Click the title to rename your project.
Just below, assign or reassign a client, add an address, and adjust the filter status—all from the same panel.
Everything you need to set up your project lives in the top left, making the process fast and intuitive.
Viewing Project Value
Every project now includes a Project Value section that gives you a clear financial snapshot:
Expand the dropdown to see Total Estimated and Total Invoiced amounts.
Dig deeper to view breakdowns by stage—like sent, approved, and draft estimates.
See how much has been paid and how much remains outstanding.
This tool gives you instant visibility into how each project is tracking financially, helping you stay on top of budgets and payments.
Full Project Visibility in One Place
The new Projects tab makes it easy to see everything related to your job in one centralized view, including:
All estimates created for the project.
Any linked change orders.
All invoices issued and their current status.
You no longer need to dig through multiple screens—everything is clearly laid out and easy to manage from one dashboard.
Coming Soon: Notes & Files
We’re also working on two new tools to make your project management even stronger:
Notes – Add project-specific notes to keep key details and decisions in one place.
Files – Upload and store job site photos, documents, and other important files tied to the project.
These features will help you stay organized and keep everything your team needs easily accessible from one screen.
Creating and Managing Change Orders in Handoff
Project changes are inevitable—but handling them shouldn’t be a hassle. Handoff gives you a fast, clear, and professional way to manage updates with AI-powered change orders.
Create a Change Order from an Estimate
Open the Project View:
From your Projects Dashboard, click into the project where you want to add a change order.
Navigate to the Estimate:
Open the estimate that has been moved to proposal status—this is the version you’ll be adjusting.
While change orders usually follow client approval, you can create them at any stage of the project.
Add a Change Order:
Click the “Add Change Order” button at the top right of the estimate view.
Use AI to Speed Things Up
Handoff is the only platform that allows you to create change orders using AI:
Type or speak the change you'd like to make.
The system automatically updates your line items and calculates new totals.
All updates appear immediately in the line item panel on the right.
Link to the Right Estimate
Change orders automatically link to the proposal you selected.
You can relink the change order to a different estimate within the same project if needed.
Add Project Details
Just like with a proposal, you can:
Attach files, terms, or client notes before sending.
Modify formatting and invoice settings as needed.
Send for Approval
Preview the change order to double-check the details.
Send it via text or email, the same way you would send a proposal.
After It’s Sent
Client View: Your client sees a clean, itemized breakdown of all changes and updated totals.
Approval and Invoicing: Once accepted, you can generate an invoice directly from the change order.
Project Dashboard
Change orders are tracked in a separate section of each project.
Easily view and manage all proposed and approved change orders.
Change order totals are automatically included in the project value itemizer, giving you an accurate, real-time view of total project costs.

We’ve dropped our standard credit card processing fee from 3.6% to as low as 2.85%—making it more affordable to get paid by card.
