This update brings a streamlined Projects tab, AI-powered change orders, and faster, lower-cost payments.

Projects Dashboard

The Projects view is your central hub for all jobs in Handoff.

  • Desktop: Click Projects in the left sidebar.

  • Mobile: Tap Projects in the bottom navigation.

Filter projects by status: All, Draft, Bidding, In Progress, Completed, Archived.

From the project list you can update status, assign a client, or add an address without opening the full project view.


Creating a New Project

  1. Tap the green New Project (+) button in the top right.

  2. Click the default title "Untitled Project" to rename it.

  3. Assign a client, add an address, and set the project status.


Project Value

Each project shows a Project Value section with a financial snapshot:

  • Total Estimated and Total Invoiced amounts

  • Breakdowns by stage (sent, approved, draft estimates)

  • How much has been paid vs. outstanding

Change order totals are automatically included in the project value, giving you a real-time view of total project costs.


Creating and Managing Change Orders

Change orders let you handle project scope changes professionally — without touching your original estimate.

How to Create a Change Order

  1. Open the project and navigate to the estimate that has been converted to a proposal.

  2. Tap "Add change order" at the top of the estimate view.

  3. Describe the change by typing or using voice. The AI updates line items and totals automatically.

  4. Attach files, terms, or client notes as needed.

  5. Tap Preview & send to review, then send via text or email.

Change Order Rules

  • Change orders can only be linked to estimates that have been converted to a proposal (sent, approved, or pending).

  • If an estimate is reverted back to draft, you must convert it to a proposal again before creating change orders.

  • You can relink a change order to a different estimate within the same project if needed.

  • Multiple change orders per project are supported, with a clear summary of all changes.

After Sending

  • Client view: Your client sees a clean, itemized breakdown of all changes and updated totals.

  • After approval: Generate an invoice directly from the change order.

Change orders are tracked in a separate section of each project dashboard.


Digital Payments

Clients can approve and pay directly from proposals and invoices — no extra apps, no printing.

Payment Fees by Plan

Flex Plan:

  • ACH: $10 per transaction

  • Credit card: 3.35% per transaction

  • ACH deposits in 2 business days; card in 3 business days

Business Pro Plan:

  • ACH: 1% per transaction, capped at $10

  • Credit card: 2.85% per transaction

  • ACH in 2 business days (eligible for 1 business day); card next business day
