Here's a video overview of how Handoff works:

To summarize, Handoff takes a description of your project, which you can provide by typing or using voice-to-text, and generates an itemized estimate for you. Here’s how it works:

  1. Project Description: Provide a detailed description of your project. The more detail you provide, the better Handoff can break down the scope of work.

  2. Estimate Generation: Handoff generates an itemized estimate grouped by scope, such as demolition, painting, cabinetry, electrical, plumbing, etc. Each group contains items with the following details:

    • Quantity: The amount needed.

    • Unit Rate: The cost per unit.

    • Total: The total cost (Quantity times Unit Rate).

  3. Material and Labor Breakdown: Handoff separates material and labor costs. Each group will have one labor item at the end showing the number of man-hours required at a specific hourly labor rate.

  4. Proposal Conversion: When ready, you can convert your estimate to a proposal using the toggle at the top center of your screen. In the proposal view, you can:

    • Format the proposal with your company logo.

    • Update your client's contact information.

    • Add attachments, terms, and conditions.

    • Alter the layout of your cost estimate.

  5. Sending Proposals: You can send the proposal via text or email. Clients can view, approve, and pay for the estimate within the platform using a credit card or ACH for either an upfront deposit or the entire amount.

By following these steps, Handoff helps streamline the estimating and proposal process, making it easier to manage your projects and communicate with clients.
