Yes, Handoff does separate material items and labor items in your estimate by default. Here's how it works:
Estimate Generation: When you generate an estimate with AI, you'll see that demolition items are broken out into labor only. For example:
Labor Items: These are shown in hours. For instance, "8 man hours to demo tile at $67 per man hour" or "4 hours to demo appliances."
Material Items: Listed above the labor items, showing costs like "$20 per square foot for backsplash" or "$0.70 per pound for tile mortar."
Labor Rates: Labor rates are localized to your area based on the data for your city or county.
Category Examples:
Painting: Purchase price of paint (e.g., $55 per gallon) is shown separately from the painting labor (e.g., 4 man hours at a given rate).
Cabinets: The purchase costs of cabinet materials are listed, followed by cabinet installation labor at the bottom.
Customization: You can give Handoff further instructions to break out material and labor in different ways. For example:
Separate cabinetry handles and hardware from the cabinets themselves.
Separate labor for countertop fabrication from countertop installation.
Simply provide Handoff with the information on how you would like to adjust the material and labor breakdown, and it will tailor the estimate to your specifications.
