Handoff automatically localizes pricing based on your project location. The AI uses regional labor rates and material costs to ensure your estimates reflect real local market prices.

How Location Pricing Works

When you create a new estimate, Handoff may prompt you to confirm the project location. Enter the city, state, or zip code for the job site and the AI will use localized pricing for that area.

Set a Default Location

You can save your default service area so every new estimate automatically uses local rates:

  1. Go to Settings → Company.

  2. Enter your business address or primary service area.

  3. Save. Future estimates will default to pricing for this location.

Override Location for a Specific Estimate

If a project is in a different area than your usual service region, include the location in your chat prompt:

  • “This is a kitchen remodel in Seattle, WA.”

  • “The project is in Houston, TX. Use local labor rates.”

The AI will apply pricing for that specific location.

Use Your Own Rates

To override AI pricing with your own labor rates and material costs, set them in Settings → Presets or in Settings → Catalogs. Your saved rates take precedence over the AI’s default estimates.
