To create a document with Handy (Handoff's AI assistant), open a project, go to Documents, and create a blank document. Select a template such as Scope of work and Handy writes the first draft.
Available on the Pro, Scale, and Business plans. You need permission to edit Documents to create and share them. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Create a document in a project
Open the project.
On desktop, select Documents in the left sidebar, then select Create document. In the mobile app, select the Documents tab, then select Create.
A blank document opens.
You can also select Create on the Overview tab and choose Document. Documents belong to a project, so there is no company-wide Documents page.
Generate a draft with Handy
In a blank document, the templates appear under CREATE WITH AI:
Scope of work: overview, tasks, deliverables, timeline, materials, labor, and quality standards.
Material list: quantities, units, costs, and supplier details.
Work order: priorities, safety requirements, procedures, and sign-off.
Select a template and Handy opens its chat and writes the document. You can also type your own request in the chat, such as asking Handy to base a scope of work on the project's estimate.
How long the draft takes varies, and you can keep asking Handy to change it.
Edit the document
Everything Handy writes is editable. The toolbar has text formatting, headings, bulleted and numbered lists, tables, Add link, Attach file, and Voice to text. Your company header, with your logo and contact details, can appear at the top.
To reuse a document, open the three-dot menu and select Duplicate. To save it as a template, select Convert to > Template.
Share, export, or print a document
Select Share at the top of the document. If a menu opens, select Share with contact.
In Share document, choose SMS, Email, or Share.
Select Send. On desktop you can also select Copy link. In the mobile app, Share opens your phone's share sheet.
If the project has no client, you can create a link that anyone can open.
To save a copy, open the three-dot menu and select Export to PDF. On desktop, select Print from the same menu. Printing isn't available in the mobile app.
