Handoff AI can generate full project documents for you in seconds — scope of work, material lists, work orders, and more. Just open a document, choose a template or describe what you need, and the AI writes the first draft.
How to Create a Document with AI
Open a project and go to the Documents tab (or navigate to Documents from the main menu).
Tap + to create a new document.
When the document opens empty, you will see AI template options:
Scope of work — a detailed scope including tasks, deliverables, timeline, materials, labor, and quality standards
Material list — a comprehensive list with quantities, units, costs, and supplier info
Work order — a detailed work order with procedures, safety requirements, and sign-off sections
Tap a template to generate a draft instantly, or type your own prompt in the AI chat.
Review and edit the generated content using the document editor.
Editing Documents
Once generated, documents are fully editable. The editor supports:
Rich text formatting (bold, italic, headings, bullet lists)
File and photo attachments
Voice-to-text transcription via the toolbar microphone
Company header with your logo and contact info
Sharing and Exporting
When your document is ready:
Tap the share icon to send it to a client via email or a public link
Use the menu to Export to PDF or Print
Duplicate the document to use it as a template for future projects
Using Existing Estimate Data
When you create a document inside a project that already has an estimate, the AI has access to the estimate's line items and scope. You can ask it to generate a scope of work or material list directly from your estimate data.
