Your Handoff schedule now syncs automatically with Google Calendar in both directions. No more switching apps or copying dates.

Written by Handoff Support

What's included

  • Two-way sync: Handoff schedule phases

Google Calendar events (titles, dates, addresses, descriptions)

  • Guest invites: External assignees (subs, clients) automatically receive a Google Calendar invite. No Handoff account needed on their end.

  • RSVP tracking: Responses from external guests surface back in Handoff

  • Granular control: Choose which projects sync; toggle individual phases/events on or off from the schedule item editor

  • AI-aware scheduling: Ask Handy "Am I free Thursday?" and it'll check your calendar

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations & API keys

  2. Click Connect Google Calendar

  3. Choose which calendar to sync to

That's it. Your Handoff schedule phases will start appearing in Google Calendar automatically

Note: The connection is set up once per organization. You don't need to reconnect for each project.

Choosing what to sync

Once connected, you can control sync at two levels:

  • Per-project: Admins choose which projects sync. There's also a "Sync all" master switch and a default setting for new projects.

  • Per-item: Individual phases and events can be turned on or off from the schedule item editor without affecting the rest of the project.

Frequently asked questions

  • Does it sync both ways? Yes. Changes in Handoff or Google Calendar sync automatically in both directions, within minutes.

  • Do my subs need a Handoff account to receive invites? No. They receive a standard Google Calendar invite. No Handoff login required.

  • What happens if I disconnect Google Calendar? Sync stops. Existing events that were already created in your Google Calendar are not deleted.

  • Does this work with Outlook or Apple Calendar?
Not yet. This version supports Google Calendar only.
