To invite a sub or vendor, add them in Portal access, then select Send invite from their row menu. Adding someone sends nothing, so the invite goes out only when you select Send invite.
Available on the Scale plan. You need permission to edit Projects and Clients. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Add a vendor
Open the Sub & Vendor portal for the project. On desktop, select Communication > Sub & Vendor portal in the sidebar, or select Manage in the Sub & vendor portal card on the Overview tab. In the mobile app, select Manage in that card, or Manage portal if the list is empty.
In Portal access, select Add vendor. On desktop, the button is in the section header. In the mobile app, it is at the bottom of the list.
Select one or more contacts, then select Add vendor.
The list offers contacts with the type Subcontractor or Vendor. If none appear, select New contact to create one.
The Vendor added message appears, and the row shows Not invited.
Send the invite
In Portal access, find the row marked Not invited.
Select the three-dot menu on the row, then select Send invite.
The contact needs an email address or a phone number. Handoff sends the invite to every channel on file, so a contact with both gets an email and a text. The message includes a link to the Sub & Vendor portal.
To sign in, the sub opens the link, chooses email or text message, and enters a 6-digit code.
Resend or cancel an invite
For a row marked Invited, open the three-dot menu and select:
Resend invite: sends the invite again by email and text.
Cancel invite: takes back the sub's access to this project. The sub is not notified, and the row returns to Not invited.
What each status means
Not invited: added but not invited, or access was revoked. Select Send invite to invite or restore access.
Invited: the invite is out and the sub has never signed in.
Active: the sub has signed in at least once.
A sub who signed in through another project's invite shows Active here before opening this project.
Copy the link or preview the portal
On the Sub & Vendor portal page, select Copy link to copy the project's portal link. A sub who opens it still signs in with a code.
Select View portal on that page, or View as sub in the Sub & vendor portal card, to see what a sub sees. View as sub appears once you have added a vendor.
