To stop a sub or vendor from using a project's Sub & Vendor portal, open their row menu in Portal access. Select Revoke access to keep their shares and messages, or Remove vendor to delete them.
Available on the Scale plan. You need permission to edit Projects and Clients. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Open Portal access
On desktop, select Communication > Sub & Vendor portal in the project sidebar. Or select Manage in the Sub & vendor portal card on the Overview tab. In the mobile app, use that card.
Find the sub or vendor in Portal access and select the three-dot menu on their row.
Revoke access
Open the row menu for a sub marked Active and select Revoke access. For a sub marked Invited, select Cancel invite.
Access ends right away, with no confirmation. The Portal access updated message appears and the row shows Not invited.
Revoking affects only this project. Items you shared and message threads stay in place, and the sub is not notified. The sub sees that project access was removed.
To restore access, select Send invite on the row. The sub is notified again.
Remove a vendor
Open the row menu and select Remove vendor.
In the Remove vendor? dialog, select Remove vendor.
The Vendor removed message appears and the row leaves the list.
Removing a vendor does this for this project only:
Deletes the items you shared with that vendor.
Deletes that vendor's message threads, including threads about daily logs, invoices, and bids.
Leaves the contact in your Contacts.
The sub is not notified. You can add the vendor again later, but shares and messages are not restored. Items shared with all vendors apply again once the vendor is re-added and invited.
Which one to choose
Revoke access: use it for a pause. The history stays and Send invite brings the sub back.
Remove vendor: use it to clear the vendor from the project, including their shares and messages.
