Cancellations, commitments, and refunds

How cancelling works on Flex, Pro, and Scale, when it takes effect, and why paid periods and terms aren't refunded.

Written by Dave Pucci

When you cancel a Handoff subscription, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and Handoff doesn't offer refunds. Annual and 12-month terms run to the end of the term.

Available on the Flex, Pro, and Scale plans. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.

When a cancellation takes effect

Your plan stays active until the end of the current paid period, so you keep access to everything you've paid for. You aren't charged again after that.

There are no refunds for unused time, whether you cancel part-way through a month or part-way through a year.

Annual and 12-month terms

If you pay annually, your subscription runs to the end of the annual term. Pro and Scale plans are sold on a 12-month term, which also runs to its end. Cancelling doesn't shorten the term or return any part of the payment.

How to cancel on each plan

  • Flex: you can cancel in the app. See the steps below.

  • Pro and Scale: cancel through support. See How to contact Handoff support.

  • App Store or Google Play: if you subscribed through the store, cancel in the store's subscription settings. Handoff can't cancel a store subscription for you.

Cancel a Flex subscription in the app

  1. Open Settings (your company logo at the bottom left on desktop, or the button at the top left in the mobile app).

  2. Select Subscription.

  3. Select Cancel subscription.

  4. In the cancellation dialog, choose one or more reasons and add a short description, then select Next.

  5. Follow the prompts that appear to confirm.

A Cancellation confirmed message tells you the date your features stay active until. No further charges are applied after that date.

What happens after the paid period ends

When the paid period ends, your subscription becomes inactive. You can still sign in, but you can't create new projects, estimates, or clients until you subscribe again.
