To create a layout, select the layout chip on a proposal, then Manage layouts > Create new. To apply one, select the chip, then Select a layout, and choose it.
Available on the Pro and Scale plans. You need permission to edit Estimates. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Open the layout chip
The layout chip shows the name of the layout on the proposal, or Select a layout if none is applied. On desktop, it is in the page header next to the Estimate | Proposal control. In the mobile app, it is in its own row above the proposal.
The chip is not available after the proposal is approved.
Create a proposal layout
Open a proposal and select the layout chip.
Select Manage layouts.
Select Create new for an empty layout, or select Duplicate to copy the layout you are viewing.
Enter a Title.
Select Add section and choose a section type. Repeat for each section you need.
Select Move up or Move down to put the sections in order.
Open a section's Section presets to set the starting content it has each time you apply the layout.
Select Save.
On desktop, Manage layouts opens as a panel on the right. In the mobile app, it opens as a bottom sheet with the same fields. The layout is saved for your whole company, not for one proposal.
Apply a layout to a proposal
Open the proposal.
Select the layout chip.
Choose the layout from the list.
The layout applies right away. If it can't, Handoff shows "Failed to apply layout."
Manage layouts from Settings
Go to Settings > Presets > Proposals to see Layouts. You can create a layout with New, duplicate or delete one, and choose Set as default. Layouts made by Handoff show Handoff as the creator.
Duplicate one to make your own version.
Handoff won't delete a layout that an editable proposal uses. Change or remove it on that proposal first.
On the Flex and Business plans, Proposals shows only the basic proposal presets. The Pro and Scale plans show Layouts in addition.
You can also ask Handy (Handoff's AI assistant) to save the proposal you have open as a layout.
