To hide line-item prices, open the proposal's Estimate section settings and turn off Show line item prices. To show only one total, turn off Show section totals as well. Your client still sees the same total, and you keep full pricing on the estimate.
Available on the Flex, Pro, Scale, and Business plans. You need permission to edit Estimates, and to edit AI Settings for the default. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Hide prices on one proposal
Open the estimate and go to the Proposal tab.
Select the Estimate section to open its settings. On desktop, they open in a dialog. In the mobile app, they open in a sheet at the bottom of the screen.
Under Layout, choose Item by item to list your estimate's items, or Editable text to write bullet points or paragraphs yourself.
Under Price details, turn the switches on or off. The list below shows what each one does.
If you don't want a separate tax line, turn on Hide tax on proposal.
Your client sees the new layout in Preview and on the proposal they open.
What each price setting shows your client
Show section totals: Shows the total for each section. Turn it off to show only the proposal total, as a lump sum.
Show line item prices: Shows the price next to each item. Turn it off to list the items with only section totals. This switch appears when Layout is Item by item and Show section totals is on.
Show full breakdown: Adds the quantity and unit rate for each item. This switch appears when Show line item prices is on.
Hide tax on proposal: Hides the separate tax line. The tax stays included in the total.
Switches that depend on another one disappear when that one is off.
Set your default for new proposals
Go to Settings > Presets.
Select the Proposals tab.
In the Basic proposal presets card, select Customize next to Proposal format.
In the Proposal format dialog, choose your Layout and Price details, and turn Hide tax on proposal on or off.
Select Save presets.
The default applies to proposals you create after saving. Proposals you already created keep their own settings.
