Your client opens a proposal from the link you send, on a web page that looks the same on a phone, tablet, or computer. A bar at the bottom holds Give feedback, Decline, and Accept (or Sign and accept when you require a signature).
Available on the Flex, Pro, Scale, and Business plans. Works on desktop and in the mobile app. Your client doesn't need the app or a login, because the proposal opens in their web browser.
What the proposal page shows
The page shows your proposal's sections in the order you set them: who it's prepared for and by, your client message, the estimate, the payment schedule, any files, the terms and conditions, and the signature area. A banner at the top shows the status, such as the date you sent it.
Your client can also download the proposal as a PDF from the options menu at the top of the page.
When you open Preview, you see this same page.
The buttons at the bottom
The bar stays fixed at the bottom of the screen while your client scrolls. It has three buttons:
Give feedback: Opens a box where your client can type a question or request a change. They enter their name unless the link already identifies them. Handoff confirms with Feedback sent. Feedback doesn't approve or decline the proposal, and it doesn't stop follow-up reminders.
Decline: Opens Decline proposal, where your client can add feedback if they want. Declining stops any follow-up reminders.
Accept: Opens Ready to move forward? with the message that you will be notified. The client confirms with Accept proposal.
When the proposal requires a signature, Accept is replaced by Sign and accept. See How to require a signature on a proposal.
The bar disappears once the proposal is approved or declined. If you edit a sent proposal, the client's old link can't accept it, and they see a message asking them to request the latest version from you.
How the payment schedule appears
If you added a payment schedule, your client sees it as a read-only table with the Name, Amount, and Due for each payment. Due shows as On approval, On completion, a date, or your own wording.
The proposal page has no pay button. Your client doesn't pay a deposit when they accept. You collect it later on an invoice. See How to request a deposit with a payment schedule.
Options and add-ons
If you offered more than one option, your client sees a tab for each option above the estimate. The option on screen is the one they accept.
If you set up line-item options and add-ons, your client picks them on the page with Select an option and Choose add-ons. The price shows Updating... while it recalculates. Accept is blocked until their choices are saved.
Only a link sent to that person can change the choices. A link you copied and handed out shows the choices but can't change them. See How your client chooses options on a proposal.
Terms and conditions
If you turned on Require acceptance on the terms, your client must tick "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions" before Accept or Sign and accept works. Until they do, they see a message asking them to accept the terms first. See How to add terms and conditions to a proposal.
