To add terms and conditions, open the proposal's Proposal tab, add a Terms & conditions section, and choose a saved template or write your own. Turn on Require acceptance if your client must agree before they can accept.
Available on the Flex, Pro, Scale, and Business plans. Saved templates need the Pro, Scale, or Business plan. You need permission to edit Estimates. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Add terms and conditions to one proposal
Open the estimate and go to the Proposal tab.
Add a Terms & conditions section. Select the + between sections, or select Add section in the desktop page header, then choose Terms & conditions. If your proposal shows add buttons at the bottom instead, select Add terms & conditions.
Select the section to edit it. On desktop, the editor opens in a dialog. In the mobile app, it opens in a sheet at the bottom of the screen.
Choose From a saved template and pick the template, or choose Custom section and fill in Title and Details.
The terms appear in the proposal under the title Terms & Conditions. Your client reads them in the proposal itself. They never see the name of your template.
To swap the text later, open the card's menu and select Replace with a saved template. To take the terms off the proposal, select Remove section.
Require your client to agree before accepting
In the Terms & conditions section's editor, turn on Require acceptance.
Send the proposal, or send it again if you already did.
With Require acceptance on, your client sees a checkbox labeled "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions." Accept and Sign and accept don't work until they tick it. If they try first, Handoff asks them to accept the terms.
Add your terms to every new proposal
To have your standard terms on each new proposal, set a default template.
Go to Settings > Presets.
Select the Proposals tab.
In the Basic proposal presets card, choose a template for Terms & conditions template.
New proposals then start with a Terms & conditions section that uses that template. Proposals you already created don't change. To stop adding terms automatically, clear the template.
Create and manage your terms templates in Settings > Templates, on the Terms & conditions tab.
