Overview
Proposal layouts let you create a reusable section structure for your proposals. You can define which sections appear, arrange them in the order you want, and add standard wording that is automatically included when the layout is applied.
Layouts are available on the Scale plan and can be reused across proposals in your organization.
Create a proposal layout
Open a proposal in the proposal builder and select the Layout chip above the document.
Select Manage layouts.
Create or duplicate a layout from the Layouts drawer:
Select Create new to start with an empty layout.
Select Duplicate to copy the layout currently applied to the proposal.
Enter a Title for the layout.
Select Add section and choose the section type you want to include:
Header
Text
Files
Estimate
Schedule
Payment schedule
Terms & conditions
Signature
Divider
Repeat the process until you have added all the sections you need.
Arrange the sections using Move up and Move down, or drag each section into the preferred position.
Add standard content by opening a section and editing its Section presets. This content becomes the starting content each time the layout is applied.
Select Save to save the layout for your organization.
Apply a layout to a proposal
Open the proposal you want to update.
Select the Layout chip above the document.
Select Select a layout.
Choose the layout you want to apply.
Handoff rebuilds the proposal using the selected layout
.
Additional notes
Layouts belong to your organization rather than an individual proposal. Anyone on your team who can edit estimates can apply them.
When you apply a new layout, Handoff keeps content you have already edited where the section types match.
Content from a section type that is not included in the new layout will not appear after the layout is applied.
Handoff includes built-in layouts. These display Handoff as the creator. Duplicate a built-in layout to create your own version.
You can manage layouts from Settings → Presets → Proposals → Layouts. From there, you can create, search, duplicate, delete, and Set as default.
The Layout chip is unavailable after a proposal has been approved.
On plans below Scale, the Proposals presets tab displays basic proposal presets instead of Layouts.
