How to read the Estimated project value card

The Estimated project value card on a project's Overview shows what you've estimated, budgeted, invoiced, and earned on the job, with a breakdown for each.

Written by Dave Pucci

The Estimated project value card on a project's Overview tab is a quick money summary for the job. It shows what you've estimated, your budget, what you've invoiced, and your billed gross profit.

Available on the Flex, Pro, Scale, and Business plans. Total budget is on the Pro and Scale plans. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.

What the project value means

The card's value is the higher of your total estimated and your total invoiced. That way it always shows the most up-to-date value of the job, whether that comes from what you proposed or what you billed.

The card appears once the project has at least one estimate or invoice you can see.

The Estimated project value card with Total estimated expanded to show the approved proposal, plus Total budget, Total invoiced, Not invoiced, and Billed gross profit.

Total estimated

Total estimated adds up your estimates and change orders. Expand it to see the amount by status:

  • Approved proposal

  • Approved C.O (approved change orders)

  • Sent

  • Draft

If you can edit estimates, select the checkboxes to choose which statuses count toward the total.

Total budget

Total budget is the sum of your approved proposals and approved change orders. Expand it to see Total spent and Remaining budget. It doesn't appear when the project has no budget. See How project budgets work.

Total invoiced

Total invoiced adds up your invoices. Expand it to see the amount and count by status:

  • Paid

  • Processing

  • Overdue

  • Sent

  • Draft

The Not invoiced row shows how much of your total estimated you haven't billed yet. To bill that amount, go to the project's Invoices tab and select Invoice remaining. See How to create and send an invoice.

Billed gross profit

Billed gross profit is your total invoiced minus your total spent, with the margin as a percentage. It's calculated after invoices are sent.
