To fix an estimate, ask Handy (Handoff's AI assistant) in the Ask Handy chat to change it, or edit the rows yourself. If a change was a mistake, use Undo for manual edits or Use this version for Handy edits.
Available on all plans. You need permission to edit Estimates. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Fix an estimate with Handy
Open the estimate.
Select Ask Handy to open the chat. On desktop, it is at the top of the left sidebar. In the mobile app, it is the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Describe the fix in plain language, then send it.
Examples include "Change the tile labor to $12 per sq ft" and "The square footage is 850, not 650." Handy reads the estimate as it is now, including your manual edits.
Use chat for bulk changes, and edit by hand for a few cells. While Handy is working, manual editing is paused until the chat finishes.
Fix an estimate by hand
On desktop, select a cell and type a new value, or open the item to edit all its fields. In the mobile app, select the item to open its item screen. You can also add, delete, and move rows. For the steps, see How to edit items on an estimate.
Undo a manual edit
Select Undo at the top right of the estimate, next to the options menu. In the mobile app, it is in the app bar at the top. Undo covers your manual edits only. It remembers your last 50 actions on that estimate for up to 24 hours, on the device where you made them. If the undo fails, a message says "Failed to undo changes."
Go back to an earlier Handy version
Each time Handy changes an estimate, the chat shows an estimate card. Select the card to preview that version, then select Use this version. This works the same on desktop and in the mobile app. A message confirms "Estimate restored." You can also ask Handy in chat to restore an earlier version.
Edit an estimate you already sent
An estimate with a sent proposal is locked. On desktop, select Edit at the top of the estimate or in the options menu. In the mobile app, open the options menu (three dots) and select Edit. Then select I understand. The estimate moves back to Drafts, and your client loses viewing access until you send it again.
