Handoff localizes your estimates by connecting to real material suppliers and our extensive database of labor rates for various trades across the United States. Here’s how it works:

  1. Price Location Input: When you create an estimate using AI, you’ll be asked to enter your price location by typing in the nearest city or county of your project. This will localize both material and labor prices to that specific location.

  2. GPS Access: If you allow GPS access, Handoff can automatically determine the best matching city and county for you and pull your location.

  3. Reusing Previous Locations: To save you time, Handoff will reuse previous price locations you’ve set.

  4. Setting the Price Location:

    • From your estimate dashboard, start a new project by clicking the plus button in the top right corner.

    • Click the yellow "Use AI" button in the middle of your screen.

    • In the pop-up "Use AI" modal, you’ll find an option to set your price location at the bottom.

    • This bar should be pre-populated with your nearest city or county if you’ve given GPS permission. If not, click in the bar and start typing your city or county. Select the appropriate option from the list.

    • You can set exact addresses or zip codes, but Handoff will localize to the nearest city or county.

Note: Once set, price locations cannot be changed for a project. However, we are working on adding this feature. Each project has its own unique price location, allowing for specific and competitive pricing, especially if your projects span different cities or counties with varying material and labor costs.

By using this price location feature, Handoff ensures that your estimates are accurately localized, helping you to price your projects competitively based on the specific location.
