To offer client financing, go to Settings > Finance & payments, find the Homeowner financing card, and turn on Show financing options on your estimates. Your clients can then pre-qualify for a loan through Acorn Finance, a financing partner, from your estimates, proposals, and invoices.
Available on the Pro, Scale, and Business plans. You need permission to edit Company settings to turn financing on. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
What clients and contractors get
Handoff shows your client a financing option, including an estimated monthly payment, on the shared estimate or invoice. The client opens Acorn's application from there. Handoff's financing prompt says it costs you nothing extra, and you get paid upfront while your client pays over time.
The loan is between your client and Acorn's lending partners. The financing does not change your estimate or invoice total.
Turn on Homeowner financing
Go to Settings > Finance & payments.
In the Homeowner financing card, turn on Show financing options on your estimates.
Handoff shows Financing settings updated when the change saves. The card also has Download brochure and Learn about Acorn Finance buttons.
Financing is on by default for accounts that never changed the setting. Only Pro, Scale, and Business accounts can use it.
On Flex, the switch cannot be turned on. You can always turn it off.
Choose financing per document
The account setting decides the starting value for new estimates and invoices. Each document has its own Offer financing toggle that you can change.
Estimates and proposals: turn Offer financing on or off on the estimate.
Proposal builder: the estimate block has Offer financing, which shows a monthly payment teaser on the proposal.
Proposal presets: under Presets, the proposals section has Offer financing to show financing options on new proposals.
Invoices: the Offer financing toggle appears on invoices that have an amount due.
Changing the account setting does not change documents you already created.
What you see when a client applies
Handoff notifies you when a client's application has a result.
No offer: you are told the client did not qualify, and a prompt suggests following up about other payment options.
Offers available: you are told the client has loan options and is reviewing them.
Financing secured: you are told the client secured financing, and a prompt suggests following up to move the project forward.
On estimates, the assigned user and admins are notified. On invoices, the people who can view invoices are notified.
Handoff does not move money for financing. Acorn handles the loan and funding.
An invoice stops offering financing once its payment is processing, in review, or paid.
