If your PDF export is failing, here are the most common causes and how to fix them.
Error: "There was an issue exporting your PDF. Please try again."
This error appears when the PDF generation fails. Try the following:
Check your internet connection — PDF export requires a stable connection. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi or have a strong cellular signal.
Try again — Tap Export to PDF again from the menu. Temporary server issues sometimes resolve on their own.
Reduce estimate size — Very large estimates with many photos can occasionally time out during export. Try removing some photos or splitting the estimate into sections, then export again.
Reload the app — Close and reopen Handoff, then try the export again.
Export Is Taking a Long Time
Large estimates with many attached photos or images may take a minute or two to generate. Wait for the completion notification before assuming the export has failed.
PDF Downloaded but Looks Wrong
Make sure your company details are filled in under Settings → Company settings. Missing company info can affect how the header renders.
The PDF layout uses a fixed-width format optimized for printing. Column widths may look slightly different from the in-app view.
