To share a daily log with a client, open its three-dot menu, select Preview and share, and choose a contact. Then pick SMS, Email, or a link. To put the log in the client portal instead, select Share to portal.
Available on the Pro and Scale plans. You need permission to edit Daily logs. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Send a daily log by text, email, or link
Open the project, select the Daily Logs tab, and open the three-dot menu on the log.
Select Preview and share.
Review the Preview, which shows the notes, photos and videos, and weather as your client sees them.
Select Select contact and choose your client. To make a link that anyone can open, select Share without contact instead.
In the Share daily log dialog, choose SMS, Email, or Share. SMS and Email need a phone number or email on the contact. Select Add a phone number or Add an email if one is missing.
On desktop, select Send, Copy link, or Send and copy link, depending on what you chose. In the mobile app, select Share.
Handoff shows "Daily log shared successfully". When you chose Share, the link is copied to your clipboard. The mobile app does not open the phone's share sheet.
What your client sees
Your client gets a link to a read-only page with no login. The page shows the notes, photos and videos, and weather. The SMS says a jobsite update was shared for the project and includes the link.
Your team is notified when a daily log is shared.
Share a daily log to the client portal
Open the log's three-dot menu.
Select Share to portal.
The log appears in your client's portal updates. Share to portal shows only when the project's client portal is active.
What happens after you share
Once a daily log is shared, it shows a Shared badge in the Daily Logs tab. Inside the log, a banner reads Shared externally with the date and time. You can't edit or delete a shared log.
To edit it again, select Remove from portal in the log's three-dot menu. The log unlocks and its links stop working, including links already sent. Share the log again when you finish.
