To create a daily log, open your project's Daily Logs tab and select Create daily log on desktop or Create in the mobile app. A daily log has a date, notes, photos and videos, and an optional weather card.
Available on the Pro and Scale plans. You need permission to edit Daily logs. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Create a daily log
Open the project and select the Daily Logs tab.
On desktop, select Create daily log. In the mobile app, select Create at the bottom of the screen.
Check the Date. It starts as today. Select it to pick an earlier day. Future dates are not allowed.
Write your notes in the editor. You can use bold, italic, bullet lists, and numbered lists, or select the microphone button to dictate.
Add photos and videos if you want them in the log.
Select Done.
The log appears in the Daily Logs tab, grouped by date. A new daily log opens as New daily log, in a side drawer on desktop and on a full screen in the mobile app.
Changes save automatically
Handoff saves a daily log as you type. The log exists after your first change, and Done only closes the form. You can also close the drawer on desktop or go back in the mobile app without losing anything.
You can create more than one daily log for the same day.
Weather
When the project has an address, a new daily log includes a weather card for the log's date. Select the X on the card to remove it, and select Add weather to bring it back.
If the project has no address, the form shows Add address to project. Select it, choose the address in Select project address, and the weather card appears.
Edit or delete a daily log
Select a log in the Daily Logs tab to open Edit daily log and change the date, notes, photos, or weather.
To delete a log, open its three-dot menu and select Delete. Only admins can delete by default. A log you have shared with a client can't be edited or deleted unless you remove it from the client portal first.
Create a daily log with Handy or a walkthrough
Ask Handy (Handoff's AI assistant) to create a daily log from your notes or photos. Handy uses your company's default Daily Log template. Creating a log by hand starts with blank notes.
In the mobile app, the Camera has a Walkthrough mode that turns your voice and photos into a draft log. It needs the Pro or Scale plan.
