Step-by-Step Instructions
Send an Invitation
Open the project.
Click Manage portal on the Client portal card.
In the Portal access section:
Click Invite client on desktop, or
Tap Invite client at the bottom of the screen on mobile.
Select an existing contact or create a new one.
Confirm your selection to send the invitation.
Once selected, the system sends an invitation to the contact’s email or phone number on file.
What the client receives
An email with:
Your name or organization name
The project name
A link to access the portal
An SMS (if a phone number is on file) with a link to the portal
When the client opens the link, they verify their identity using a one-time code sent to their phone or email.
Manage Invitation Status
Each contact in the Portal access section displays a status:
Not invited
The contact has not been invited. Click Send invite to invite them.Invited
The invitation has been sent but not accepted. Click Resend invite to send it again.Active
The client has accepted the invitation and can access the portal.
Cancel an Invitation
Open the three-dot menu next to the contact.
Click Cancel invite.
Additional Notes
Invitations expire after 7 days. Resend the invitation if it expires.
Inviting a contact links them as the project client if none is assigned.
If a client is already assigned, inviting another contact will not replace them. Both can access the portal.
Clients do not need an account. They use a verification code each time they sign in.
Your team is notified when:
A client accepts an invitation
A client fails verification multiple times
