Overview
Handoff automatically approves clean shifts and sends exceptions to the Needs review queue. You can review entries individually, approve multiple entries at once, reject entries for correction, edit times yourself, and handle crew change requests from the Timesheet.
Review entries that need attention
Open Time Tracking.
Go to Timesheet.
Open the Needs review queue.
Check the Needs review tile for the current number of entries requiring attention, then select the Needs review filter.
Review the entry.
Select an entry to view:
Clock in
Clock out
Break
Total hours
Labor cost (BvA)
Daily log note
Photos
Activity history
Select Approve entry.
The entry is approved and removed from the review queue.
Approve multiple entries at once
Filter the Timesheet.
Select the people, projects, and dates you want to review.
Select Approve all.
Handoff skips entries that cannot be approved, including entries that are still running, already approved, or waiting on a change request.
Reject an entry for correction
Open the entry and select Reject.
Enter a reason.
Under Explain why this entry wasn't accepted, explain what needs to be corrected. A reason is required.
Select Reject entry.
The crew member can see the reason on the entry and submit a corrected version.
Edit an entry yourself
Open the entry and select Edit.
Correct the time details.
Update Clock in, Clock out, or Break as needed.
Select Save changes.
Handoff records the correction in the entry's Activity history.
Handle a crew change request
After an entry is approved or rejected, the crew member cannot edit it directly. Instead, they can submit a change request.
Open the entry.
Review the proposed times and the crew member's reason for requesting the change.
Approve or reject the request.
Select Approve change to apply the new times, or select Reject and provide a reason.
Review the entry again.
Approving or rejecting a change request sends the entry back to the review queue for a final review.
Additional Notes
Entries are automatically approved at clock-out unless they exceed your configured hour limit, are outside the geofence, or are missing a clock-in or clock-out.
To manually review every shift, turn off Approve clean shifts automatically in your time tracking settings.
Subcontractor entries are never automatically approved. Every subcontractor entry is sent to the review queue.
Running shifts cannot be approved. The crew member must clock out first.
Entries with pending change requests cannot be approved. Resolve the change request first.
Employee and subcontractor entries appear separately under Employee entries and Subcontractor entries.
Deleting an entry removes the shift and its hours from the Timesheet. This action cannot be undone.
