Handy (Handoff's AI assistant) is the assistant you chat with to create estimates, change them, and handle other work in Handoff. You open it from the Ask Handy button, describe what you want in plain language, and it acts on your jobs, clients, and documents.
Available on all plans. Flex includes 50 AI credits a month, and Pro and Scale are unlimited. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
What Handy does
Handy works across your account, not only inside estimates. It can:
Create an estimate from a job description, files, or photos.
Edit an existing estimate, such as reorganizing sections, changing markup, or adding line items.
Answer questions about an estimate, such as why a line is priced the way it is.
Create and update projects, clients, proposals, and invoices.
Draft documents and generate images.
Some tools depend on your plan, so Handy only offers what your plan includes. It also follows your role. If your role can't edit estimates, Handy tells you that instead of changing one.
Where you talk to Handy
On desktop, select Ask Handy at the top of the left sidebar. In the mobile app, use the Ask Handy bar at the bottom of the main screens. Inside an estimate, the chat opens with that estimate as context. For the full tour, see How to use the Handy chat.
How Handy uses your data
When the sources disagree, Handy follows this order:
Your current chat: what you type in the conversation wins.
Presets and catalogs: your saved rates, markups, and instructions come next.
Memory: what Handy has learned from past chats is advisory and ranks last.

AI credits
