Handoff lets you create estimates by uploading files directly into the AI chat, or by recording a Walkthrough on mobile. The AI reads your plans, photos, and descriptions to build a detailed estimate.
Option 1: Attach Files in the AI Chat
You can attach photos, PDFs, blueprints, drawings, and other documents to the AI chat on any estimate.
Open an estimate and tap Use Handoff AI (mobile) or Ask AI anywhere (desktop).
Tap the paperclip icon next to the message input.
Select the file(s) to attach.
Add a message describing the project, then tap Send.
Supported formats: PDF, JPG, PNG, Excel, Word, CSV, and most common document and image types.
Option 2: Walkthrough Mode (Mobile)
Walkthrough Mode lets you narrate a photo walkthrough of a job site. Handoff combines your voice and photos into a complete estimate.
Open a project and tap the camera icon.
Select the Walkthrough tab.
Tap START and walk the job site, narrating as you take photos.
Tap Done when finished. Handoff generates your estimate automatically.
Note: Walkthrough Mode is available on Pro and higher plans.
Tips for Accuracy
When uploading plans, include a note about which scopes you want estimated.
For walkthroughs, describe materials out loud as you go (e.g. “This is 3/4-inch hardwood flooring, about 400 square feet”).
You can follow up in the chat after the estimate is generated to refine any section.
