All updates now live in a single, organized system — tied to your role and project assignments. This helps you stay on top of payments, approvals, assignments, and activity without missing important moments.

A Central Notification Inbox

You’ll now see a notification icon inside Handoff.

This opens your Notification Inbox, where every update appears in one place with:

  • Clear timestamps

  • Project context

  • Direct links to the related estimate, proposal, invoice, or project

Nothing disappears — your Inbox acts as your permanent notification history.


Notifications Based on Your Role & Assignments

Notifications are permission-aware.

  • You receive updates based on your role

  • You see updates only for projects you are assigned to

  • Admins may see broader updates based on access

This ensures:

  • The right person sees the right update

  • Owners are not the only visibility bottleneck

  • Sales, PMs, and field crews stay aligned


Types of Notifications

Notifications fall into two main categories:

1. Client Activity Notifications

You’ll be notified when a client:

  • Opens a proposal

  • Approves or declines a proposal

  • Opens an invoice

  • Completes a payment

  • Interacts with a change order

These are critical cash-flow and momentum moments.

Clicking a notification takes you directly to the related object.


2. Internal Notifications

You may also receive updates when:

  • A project is assigned to you

  • You’re added to a project

  • Project activity changes

  • AI tasks (like estimates) complete

Clicking these notifications takes you directly to the related project or task.


Control How You’re Notified

Each user controls their own notification preferences.

To manage settings:

  1. Go to Account Settings

  2. Open Notification Settings

  3. Choose your preferred channels

Available delivery methods:

  • In-App (Inbox) — Always available

  • Browser / Push Notifications

  • Email

  • SMS

You can turn categories on or off depending on your preference. The Inbox remains your source of truth — even if you disable other channels.


AI Notification Summary

Instead of reviewing dozens of individual alerts, you can:

  • Summarize your notifications

  • Get a quick overview of what happened recently

The AI summary helps highlight:

  • New project assignments

  • Approvals or declines

  • Payments received

  • Important updates in the last 24 hours

This gives you clarity without constant interruption.


Mobile Support

The Notification Inbox is also available in the mobile app.

You’ll see:

  • The same updates

  • The same project links

  • The same summaries

Whether you’re in the field or at your desk, your notifications stay synced.


Tips for Best Results

  • Enable browser notifications if you want real-time alerts

  • Use the AI summary daily to review what changed

  • Assign projects clearly so notifications route correctly

  • Customize your delivery channels to avoid overload
