To add a phase or event, open the project's Schedule tab and select Create on desktop or New in the mobile app. Choose Phase or Event, fill in the form, and select Create. To edit an item, open it, change the fields, and select Save.
Available on the Pro and Scale plans. If you move to another plan, you can still edit and delete existing items. Adding and editing need Edit permission for Schedules, and deleting needs Delete. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Phase, event, or task
A Phase is a block of work. By default it is all-day and lasts one working day. An Event is a calendar item such as an inspection or a meeting, and by default it is hourly and lasts one hour.
You can switch an item between Phase and Event at the top of its form. A task with a due date also shows on the schedule, but it is a separate item that you manage on the Tasks tab.
Add a phase or event
Open the project and go to the Schedule tab.
On desktop, select Create and choose Phase or Event. If you see Create phase and Create event buttons, select one. In the mobile app, select New and choose Phase or Event.
Fill in the Create schedule item form. It opens as a side panel on desktop and a bottom sheet in the mobile app.
Select Create.
The form has the same fields on both:
Title, plus Start date, End date, and Days for an all-day item. Switch on Hourly to set a Date, Start time, and End time instead.
Assignee: choose people under Team members or Subs & vendors.
Color: Light gray, Dark gray, Blue, Green, Orange, or Red.
Dependencies: select Add dependencies, then pick the phases it follows.
Location and Description, added with Add location and Add description.
If you connect Google Calendar, a second field, Assignees outside your organization, appears for guests.
Edit and save an item
Open the item from the schedule. On desktop, you can also select Open details or More options > Edit item on its row. Change the fields in the Edit schedule item form and select Save.
Changes in the form aren't saved until you select Save. Select Cancel, or discard when asked, to leave without saving.
Days counts working days only. Your company sets them in Presets > Schedules > Working days, and changing Days updates the end date. Changing the dates updates Days.
Move and resize items on the Gantt
On desktop, open the Gantt view. Drag a bar to move it, drag either end to change its length, or drag the row handle to reorder it. These changes save right away.
If you move a phase's end date, every phase that depends on it shifts by the same number of days. A message such as Moved 1 connected phase appears with Undo. Select Undo to put everything back.
Adding a dependency does not move any dates. It only links the phases for later shifts.
Mark an item complete or delete it
Open the item, select its three-dot menu, and choose Mark as complete or Mark as incomplete. On desktop, you can also select the circle checkbox on the row.
To delete an item, open the three-dot menu and select Delete, then select Delete item to confirm. Deleting is permanent.
