Overview
Crew members clock in and out from their own phones and track time against a specific project. The timer continues running until they clock out.
If your organization requires crew members to be on site, Handoff also checks their location at clock-in and flags entries that start outside the job site or without a
verified location.
Clock in
Open Handoff.
Go to the Time tab.
Select Clock in.
Choose a project.
Under What are you working on?, select a project from Your projects.
Select Clock in.
The timer starts and continues running in the background.
Clock out
Stop the timer.
Select Stop timer, or select Clock out from the Time tab.
Enter any unpaid break.
In Break (minutes), enter the break as a whole number of minutes.
Add a daily log.
Under What did you work on today?, enter a Daily log note and attach Photos if needed.
Select Clock out.
Clock in when you are not on site
If Require crew to be on site is enabled, Handoff checks the crew member's location when they clock in.
If they are outside the project area:
You're outside the job site: Select Clock in anyway to start the shift. The entry is recorded and flagged for review.
Location needed to clock in: The device did not provide a location. Select Open settings to enable location access for Handoff, or clock in anyway and have the entry flagged for review.
Additional Notes
A crew member can have only one active shift at a time. They must clock out before starting time on another project.
A break cannot be longer than the total shift.
If the daily log is required, the crew member cannot clock out until they enter one.
Every time entry has a location status of On site, Off-site, or Location unverified.
If a shift is marked Off-site, clocking out from the job site does not remove that status.
Crew members can see only their own time entries unless they have separate permission to view the full team Timesheet.
