Yes. You can create and send invoices without activating payments or connecting a bank account. Your client sees the invoice but no Pay now button, so you collect the money yourself and log it on the invoice.
Available on the Flex, Pro, Scale, and Business plans. Anyone who can create invoices can send them, even before payments are active. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
What your client sees without online payments
Without active payments, your client sees a normal invoice with line items and totals. The Pay now button does not appear. Your client pays you by check, cash, or another method outside Handoff.
On an invoice you have not set up for online payments, Handoff may show a prompt such as Connect bank account or Connect bank. You can ignore it and send the invoice anyway.
Log a payment you collected yourself
Open the invoice.
In the payment details, select Log manual payment.
Choose the method (Cash, Check, or Other) and enter the amount.
Select Log payment.
The invoice updates to show the payment. A partial payment lowers the balance due and leaves the rest open.
Accept card and ACH payments later
To let clients pay online, activate payments from Settings > Finance & payments. Online payments need an active, paid plan, and the person activating them needs permission to edit company settings. Invoices you already sent do not change on their own, but your client can use the Pay now button once payments are active.
Invoices imported from QuickBooks cannot be paid online in Handoff, even after you activate payments.
