To combine estimates, open one estimate in the project, select the three-dot options menu, and select Combine estimate. Handoff creates a new draft estimate that holds the open estimate and the ones you pick.
Available on all plans. You need permission to edit Estimates. Works on desktop and in the mobile app.
Combine two or more estimates
Open the project and open the estimate you want to use as the base.
Select the options menu (three dots) and select Combine estimate.
Select the other estimates to include, then select Next.
Enter a Combined estimate title. It starts as the name of the base estimate.
Select Combine N estimates.
A message says "Estimates combined successfully." and the new draft estimate opens. With only one estimate in the project, the dialog says you need at least two.
What the combined estimate contains
Each original estimate becomes its own section in the new estimate, named after the original. The groups and items inside each one carry over.
The base estimate is the one you had open. The combined estimate uses the base estimate's markups, below-the-line markups, tax rate, and instructions for Handy (Handoff's AI assistant).
Handoff does not merge or average the settings of the others, so review markups and tax after you combine. For how they work, see How to edit your markup and How to set tax on an estimate.
Linked invoices, proposal details, and client messages stay with the originals and are not merged.
What stays the same
Your original estimates are not deleted. You can still use them as they were.
You can't undo a combine or split a combined estimate back into its originals. There is no button or chat request for it.
To change the result, edit the combined estimate. To start over, delete it and combine again. For editing steps, see How to edit items on an estimate.
Which estimates you can combine
Same project: every estimate you combine must be in one project.
Estimates only: change orders don't appear in the list.
Not archived: archived estimates can't be combined.
If Combine estimate is missing from the menu, you may lack permission to edit estimates, or you opened a change order.
